Well, everything from the old apartment (380) is in the new apartment (352)! And it's a wonderful place -- the breezes blowing through this third floor aerie are just phenom. -- and the sunshine! Aw yeah!
And I have two amazing friends, Megg and Jim, who came to help us. They are saints. I mean, I'm at an age where helping people move isn't really fun anymore. And never again. Movers baby, all the way.
I'm surprised how calm I am, after such a chaotic day. But I feel pretty great. I mean, I've had a chance to rest, eat, drink, and have a few wonderful phone calls with friends, and I've been working on finishing my sermon, which is feeling great. So that all helps. But I was thinking, though, that moving and then having my first Sunday back at church the next day would be pretty crazy, but so far, I feel good. Praise God for small graces.
Right now, I'm propped up on the bed, looking out over a couple miles of view, the sun shining in, while kind kind Adam and his parents are finishing cleaning the old apartment, and getting the last dribs and drabs out. Now, back to my sermon so I can finish and we can go get some dinner at some very pleasant chain restaurant of one kind or another around here.
