Packing

This the view from my windows at Seabury.

It's hard to know how to leave a place. Should I have had a big party? How do I say goodbye to everyone? I think I'm realizing I just can't -- there are too many people, too many feelings, and no way to acknowledge them all well. People leave, it's part of life, and I'm just too overwhelmed with all the logistical stuff I need to do to even know how to begin to approach it.

  1. Take it from someone who left 17 months ago and still misses Seabury terribly- (I still have moments of utter homesickness, like when I looked at your photographic window view!) You do take a lot of it with you, and it becomes a very special and important part of who you are. The Seabury Connection is lasting!;-)

  2. It seems like just yesterday you were reflecting on the transition from UC to SW. I'm glad that you found a good connection at Seabury and will miss it. I'd do at least some semi-final goodbye--either thank you notes or bringing snacks around or something. I think it helps to have the sense of goodbye before starting something new.

Oh, and congrats on having a new Bishop. Sounds very cool...

I'm packing, moving, and feeling right along with you.

  4. Boy, do I know how that goes! Good luck with whatever you decide to do, if you do, and good luck with the nonchosen stuff (packing, etc.), in any case. I'm sorry I can't be there to help!
